About Me

My name is Colleen; I'm in the dawn of my 30s and have been a fan and collector of My Little Pony for just about my entire life.  I did go through a phase during middle school and most of high school where I was "too old" to care about collecting MLP (although that didn't stop me from jumping on the Beanie Baby bandwagon, being obsessed with The Powerpuff Girls, continuing my Pokemon journey, or having a wedding ceremony with a friend to marry two of our Furbies).

It all comes back to ponies, though.  Sure, I had other toys that I played with often and loved.  For example, my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sometimes rode into battle atop My Little Pony.  My action figures of the original Star Trek series once beamed down into Dream Valley and had adventures with the ponies.

But it seems like no matter how stressed out or upset I am, nothing can put me back into a better mood  quite like My Little Pony (well, and sometimes maybe also a hot shower, a glass of wine, and a cuddle with one of my cats).  Looking at them, holding them...it's like being instantly transported back to a time when I didn't have to worry about things like money or car troubles or furthering my education to build a career.

I can be six again, hauling a wagon full of ponies down the street to have adventures with my friends and their herds.  If I close my eyes, I can get a faint whiff of New Pony Smell, or imagine myself standing with my parents in front of the massive Wall of Pony in the local Toys 'R' Us.  Even fakies hold a certain charm, and would become a welcome part of the herd.

Now that I'm beginning to have a little more of a disposable income here and there, I've been able to get back into actively collecting again, and decided to keep a sort of inventory of my personal collection.  The Rainbow Stable is that inventory.  I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do!

This MLP coin-op ride was at the mall in Odessa, TX! Photo taken in 2009.
